Braun’s story began in Frankfurt, Germany, in 1921, when Max Braun established a workshop that developed equipment for the emerging radio industry. By 1928, the growing business had moved into its own factory, marking an early stage in Braun’s development from an engineering workshop into an international consumer brand.

A major turning point came in 1950, when Braun introduced its first foil electric shaver alongside the Multimix food processor. In the decades that followed, Braun became particularly associated with functional German design, engineering and products intended to make everyday routines simpler.

Today, Braun is owned by Procter & Gamble, which includes the brand within its personal-grooming portfolio. Braun household appliances are operated separately by De’Longhi Group under a perpetual licensing agreement for selected domestic-appliance categories.

Braun’s personal-care range includes electric shavers, beard and hair trimmers, body groomers, epilators and other hair-removal and styling devices. Established product families include Braun Series electric shavers and Silk·épil hair-removal products.
